New York City rapidly coding information technology jobs

New York City’s information technology industry is booming. The Big Apple added IT jobs at a breakneck pace over the last couple years, securing New York City fifth place on New Geography’s 2014 list of top cities for information job growth. Between 2012 and 2013, information jobs increased by 3.3 percent in New York City.

Additional cities that ranked in the top five include San Jose, Austin, San Francisco and Phoenix.

New York City’s information technology sector is continuing its rapid growth this year. Several companies that employ large numbers of  information technology workers have recently announced plans to expand operations in New York City, including IBM, Etsy, Square, DropboxBirchbox and Tumblr.
