Gordon Food Service dishing out dozens of new jobs in Buffalo

BUFFALO, N.Y. — Privately held Gordon Food Service, a food distribution and supply firm founded more than 115 years ago, will soon be opening its first New York location in Buffalo.

The new store will be located in a former Office Depot at 2001 Elmwood Ave., and boast 40,400 square feet. Construction is slated to begin this winter, and the store is projected to be open by September 2016. The company will hire at least 46 once open for business.

Gordon Food Service supplies restaurants, food truck operators and supermarkets with a wide variety of products and has 170 stores across the Midwest. The new Buffalo location is projected to service approximately 250 clients on a daily basis.
