The Buffalo and Erie County Workforce Investment Board offers funds for job training (NY)

ERIE COUNTY, N.Y. — The Buffalo and Erie County Workforce Investment Board (WIB) has increased the available funds for job seekers seeking to job-training by 20 percent, from $2,400 to $3,000.

The funds are available for individuals who are required to cover costs related to education and technical training that results in a certificate, license or completion of a two-year degree that leads to employment in high-demand industries such as health care and advanced manufacturing.

Funding comes from the Federal Government, but is allocated directly to the university or program providing the training. In addition, the program allows subsidies for child care costs for up to $10,000 if necessary.
