GE’s energy startup, Current, will install solar panels in Albany area
ALBANY, N.Y. — The Albany Business Journal reported General Electric’s renewable energy startup, Current, is installing New York’s largest solar carport in Schenectady, as well as a ground unit in North Greenbush. The locations are expected to save more than $2.2 million in energy costs over 20 years.

The Schenectady location will save $1.5 million in energy costs over 20 years. It will offset emissions equal to removing 7,900 cars from the road.
In North Greenbush, the solar panels will save the GE Healthcare site more than $725,000 in energy costs over 20 years.
The installations are expected to begin in late summer and September, respectively.
